On Thursday, 2 May, stage one of the men’s race will start in Doncaster and cyclists, including the four-time Tour de France and double Olympic bronze medallist Chris Froome, will make their way through the East Riding to the finish line in Selby.
Beverley Man Fined £300 After Rubbish Found Dumped At Kelk Near Driffield
A Beverley man has been fined £300 after rubbish belonging to him was found dumped in Kelk, near Driffield.
The man said he paid an unknown male £20 to take two bags of household waste from his home when he was questioned by streetscene enforcement officers from East Riding of Yorkshire Council.

Buoyed by the success of the 2018 event, the Fete in the Field Festival returns to the Shiptonthorpe, East Yorkshire playing fields for 2019 with a Wild West theme.
The fourth Fete in the Field festival takes place on June 29 at The Playing Fields, Station Road, Shiptonthorpe and will feature daytime entertainment from acts including the Lonestar Old West Re-enactment Group, Starbrite Studios, local singer-songwriter Rachel Makena, the East Riding Rock Choir and Driffield’s cigar box maestro Dogfinger Steve.

Local Elections will take place on the 2 May. Residents are being reminded they do not need a polling card to vote. However, anyone wishing to take part will need to have registered to vote.
