Good Causes On To A Winner As Beverley Announces Charity Racenight Takeover

Beverley Racecourse today announced it is staging a charity takeover race meeting to support the fantastic work of some of the region’s most worthy causes.

Beverley Racecourse has invited five local charities – Cash for Kids, the Daisy Appeal, Dove House Hospice, Hull Homeless Community Project and R-evolution – to take centre stage at The Great Big Beverley Charity Racenight on Tuesday, June 18.

The groom’s mum was also looked after by a team of dedicated doctors and nurses at the centre. Also varying friends and family have needed the unit’s assistance.

The former Captain of Beverley and East Riding Golf Club presented the founder of the Daisy Appeal with a cheque for more than £2,500 from fund-raising events held during 2018.

Steve Fox, who stepped down as Captain at the end of the year, said he selected Daisy for the donation because of connections with cancer and because it is a local charity.

A woman from Hull has been fined £200 after a man she hired through Facebook to take away her rubbish dumped it near Skirlaugh.

A streetscene enforcement officer from East Riding of Yorkshire Council was called to investigate a report of fly-tipping found in a layby off the A165 between Skirlaugh and Coniston on 9 April this year.

Gallows Lane Gate Installed In The Interest Of Public Safety

Residents need not be concerned over access to Gallows Lane from the Westwood. Access currently has been restricted but is just a temporary measure.

A spokesperson for Peter Ward Homes, the company who is currently developing a housing has confirmed that the gate has been erected in the interest of public safety.
