Author James Campbell Coming To The Children’s Festival In Beverley

The exciting programme of children’s events in the East Riding Festival of Words includes a Ninja Alien Pirate Party at the Parkway Cinema in Beverley on Saturday, 19 October at 11am.

Award-winning children’s author Gareth P Jones will sing, play and rap songs inspired by his collection of published books including ‘Ninja Meerkats’, ‘Steampunk Pirates’, and ‘The Dinosaurs are Having a Party’.

People Eligible For Free Flu Jab Being Urged To Do So

The winter nights will soon be creeping in and East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s public health team is urging people who are eligible for the free flu vaccination to take up the offer.

Free flu jabs are available for people aged 65 and over, people aged from six months to less than 65 years of age with a long-term health condition, pregnant women, children aged from two to ten years.

Beside The Seaside At Bridlington Central Library

Writer and historian John Heywood will be at Bridlington Central Library on Monday, 14 October from 2pm – 4pm to talk about his book, ‘Beside the Seaside’, a history of Yorkshire’s seaside resorts.

The afternoon will be a tour down Yorkshire’s beautiful East Coast and through history.

A Hull team has been crowned as the winner of the Humber Care Tech Challenge 2019 with their design on how to support people living with dementia.

Team Ull-Tra Fast designed a technological concept on how to ease the symptoms of dementia suffers who experience sundown syndrome. The term refers to an end-of-day confusion and restlessness that manifests at a certain time of day.
