Council Acquires 145 Affordable Homes From Your Housing Group
East Riding of Yorkshire Council has completed on the acquisition of 145 affordable homes from Your Housing Group under a stock transfer agreement.
The homes, 129 of which are for rent and 16 for shared ownership, will transfer to the council, along with the tenants and leaseholders, whose statutory rights remain unaffected.

A property in Beverley of great historic interest is set to get a new lease of life as a result of council intervention.
The Grade 2 listed house on Norwood Far Grove has stood empty for a number of years. Since then it has been an eyesore for residents on the street who have for years been calling for the council to take action.

Active Towns Launched Across The East Riding
An exciting new pilot scheme to encourage and support communities and residents to be physically, mentally and socially active has launched on a trial basis in four towns in the East Riding. Hopes are high that local residents will get involved and improve their wellbeing in Active Towns.

Molescroft Pavilion Gets Much Needed Life-Saving Facility
Life-saving equipment installed at Molescroft Pavilion has been welcomed by the Parish Council. They say they are very grateful a defibrillator has been installed on the site.
The equipment was made possible thanks to a number of bodies including regional contractors Esh Civils.

Emergency Cash Still Available For Residents Affected Financially By COVID-19
East Riding residents who are in need of financial help as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic are being urged to apply for cash funds from East Riding of Yorkshire Council.
The council has been given an amount of funding from central government to help support those residents most in need whose income has been reduced because of the coronavirus.

Parents who had their babies during lockdown are being encouraged to come forward and register their births as soon as possible.
Over 100 new families whose children were born between February and June, under the care of Hull Women and Children’s hospital have not yet obtained a birth certificate.

Beverley Civic Society’s History Boards: The Friary & Eastgate Board
On 1 October 2020 the tenth history board was put in place in Eastgate, to replace a damaged board there, close to the footage entry to the Friary and Eastgate site.
It is the last in the present phase of these boards, which have been warmly welcomed by visitors and residents. The planning of these boards began in 2017, under the leadership of John Bird.
