Two of the busiest bus stops in the East Riding will now benefit from real-time bus information thanks to new information screens installed by the council. The screens are situated on either side of the road at the busy Cottingham Green bus stops.

Hull city council’s new employment hub, working with over 80 businesses in the city, has delivered a major new programme to offer hundreds of life-changing career opportunities for those struggling to find work in the Covid crisis.
The employment hub has already secured 300 new opportunities for local young people, under the government’s national Kickstart scheme, which creates fully-funded, six-month placements for 25 hours per week in a wide variety of businesses and roles.

Hull City Council Leader Publishes Proposed Budget Statement For Year Ahead
Hull City Council Leader, Councillor Stephen Brady, has published the proposed Budget Statement for 2021/22, ahead of it being discussed at Full Council on 25 February.
The Budget outlines that there will be no cuts to services for residents, and savings will be made through internal council savings but no redundancies will be made. Council Tax will rise by 4.99 per cent, but those receiving council tax support will be protected from the rise through the use of the Hardship Fund.

Census 2021 – Households Across Hull Will Soon Be Asked To Take Part
The census, run by the Office for National Statistics, is a once-in-a-decade survey that gives us the most accurate estimate of all the people and households in England and Wales. It has been carried out every decade since 1801, with the exception of 1941.
It will be the first run predominantly online, with households receiving a letter with a unique access code, allowing them to complete the questionnaire on their computers, phones or tablets.
