Dancers From Beverley To Play Their Part On A Strictly Fabulous Night

24 amateur dances, including a pair from Beverley will hit the stage later this month for the Strictly Learn to Dance final in aid of East Yorkshire’s local Hospice, Dove House.

Taking place on Friday 23rd March Hull City Hall will be covered in glitter as the dancers show off their skills to bring us their wonderful Waltzes, perfect Paso Dobles and fantastic Foxtrots, all vying for your support to be crowned Strictly Champions 2018.

The dreadful weather conditions prevailing did not suggest the prospect of much flowing rugby and so it turned out with the result that we saw a dour contest largely played out between the two forward packs.

The college has received veterinary advice to cancel the event after a number of lambs were identified as having a skin infection. This is believed to have been brought on by stress, caused by the recent adverse weather.

Tour de Yorkshire Trophies To Go On Display In Beverley And Schools

The men’s and women’s Tour de Yorkshire Trophies will visit Beverley and surrounding villages on Monday, 12 March as part of a week-long tour of Yorkshire ahead of the event, with both races starting in the town on Thursday, 3 May.

Members of the public will be able to catch a glimpse of the silverware in Saturday Market, from 12noon to 1pm, with the trophies also visiting six schools in the morning and five in the afternoon.

Molescroft Parish Council Restored Village’s Roll of Honour

As the anniversary to mark the 100th anniversary of the end of World War I approaches later this year, Molescroft Parish Council has restored the village’s Roll of Honour.

Parish Councillors David Boynton & Jackie Heffer formed a working group, with the aim of restoring the Roll of Honour which lists the names of 20 Molescroft servicemen who took up the call to arms in the conflict. The roll records the death of only one serviceman Lieutenant Edmund Wigfall Military cross.

Two pupils at St Mary’s Primary School Poppy Kitchen and Florence Hewitt have delivered a talk to fellow pupils about their involvement with the Humberside Police Lifestyle Project.

Poppy and Florence took part in the project during the summer holidays choosing to raise money to buy Friendship Benches for the school’s playground.
