Tremendous Beavers Topple Chester
A cracking match and a fine win for Beverley RUFC over second placed Chester who had sustained only four previous defeats this season. It was exciting stuff from start to finish.
A cracking match and a fine win for Beverley RUFC over second placed Chester who had sustained only four previous defeats this season. It was exciting stuff from start to finish.
Despite the gap in the two sides’ league positions, the Beavers should not lack confidence for, if they play with the newly found spirit shown at Lymm last Saturday and eliminate the mistakes that they made, there is no…
Beverley RUFC Mini section finally got new shirts after two years fund raising and with help of three sponsors. On Sunday at Beaver Park the Mini Section showed off their impressive new shirts posing for a group photo.
Despite a fierce crosswind this was a fast open game in which the result remained in the balance right to the end. Victory could have gone either way. Sadly for Beverley RUFC it did not go theirs and come the end of the season this narrow defeat could prove to have been crucial if they narrowly fail in their battle against relegation. If so it would be a pity. After…
Anthony Posa: “I am looking to put the first half of the season behind us and start on Saturday to play with more shape and belief in ourselves.”
Beverley RUFC have taken steps to strengthen their coaching set up by appointing former Head Coach Anthony Posa in the same role, initially until the end of the current season with the possibility of extending the role for next season, and former Hull KR and Hull FC legend Stanley Gene as Defence Coach. Present player coaches James McKay and Junior Tupai remain in their posts, effectively doubling the club’s coaching…
If last week’s dismal showing at Penrith did nothing else it certainly served as a wake-up call for Beverley RUFC. They came back in fine style today to overcome fellow strugglers Morley in an enjoyable and lively encounter at Beaver Park. Both sides desperately needed a win here, Beverley even more than Morley. For over half the match the result hung in the balance with Beverley holding a slender 8-3…

Beverley RUFC entertain fellow struggler’s Morley at Beaver Park on Saturday, kick-off 2.15 p.m, in what is a crucial National League 3 fixture. Having produced an outstanding performance to dispose of table topping Rossendale two weeks ago, they sadly reverted to type to lose to Penrith last weekend, and plunged themselves deeper into trouble. At the halfway point of the season, the Beavers need to buckle down and reproduce the flashes of…
Beverley RUFC under 13’s / development side travelled to North Yorkshire to face Malton. Always a strong opposition and this was to prove no different . The blast of the whistle also saw the start of a downfall of rain which was unrelentless. The first ten minutes saw the ball played mainly in Maltons half , Beverley managed some brave runs with the ball from Jacob Holmes and Rory Johnson….
A hugely disappointing day for Beverley RUFC. Both these sides badly needed to produce a top class performance to secure a win and ease their relegation worries. The message had clearly got through to Penrith but Beverley RUFC, sadly, seemed quite oblivious to it. They were frankly unrecognisable from the side that played so well the previous week against Rossendale and were deservedly beaten by a team playing with far…
What a difference a win makes. After a luckless few weeks with numerous injuries and withdrawals Beverley RUFC got themselves off the bottom of the table with a close but well deserved victory against second placed Rossendale at Beaver Park. The game never produced much quality rugby – not surprising given the strength of the raw wind that blew end to end all afternoon – but Beverley RUFC will not…
The Beverley Bandits suffered a shock defeat as they went down to Hull Ionians 17 – 0 at Beaver Park. Skipper Phil Brann whos team have enjoyed a successful seasons so far said; “We were just up against much younger legs!” Photos by Paul Linton & Matthew Linton [nggallery id=1883]
Lingering Fog at Beaver Park didn’t stop Cleckheaton making their journey to Beverley for a rematch, previously Beverley had beaten them in the season. The under 14s team have been very lucky this season with an influx of players allowing a 2nd team to be developed and their first chance to play . The first team kicked off and quickly moved forward within minutes the first try was taken by Ben Smith…
This report will not be up to the usual standard that readers have come to expect, since our regular reporter arrived at Sandal just before half time after exchanging heated words with his Satnav and just about every motor vehicle between Bingley and Sandal! Clearly he was in no mood to take over my scrap of paper and pencil to continue my efforts. Reading the scoreline it is, perhaps, just…
Following a much improved display last Saturday against West Hartlepool where, despite losing by 13 points to 9, Beverley were by far the better team on the day and lost the game largely due to three vital and very dubious decisions going against them, the Beavers head to Sandal reinforced with more confidence than for a long while. Richard Bussey, Francis Pickering and Craig Hancock all came through their return…
The Mini Section caters for children from the age of 6 through to 12. Children play in their own age groups. Beverley RUFC has a thriving Mini and Junior section with over 140 children registered. If you would like to be a part of this thriving club, Beverley RUFC would be delighted to welcome any boys and girls aged from 5 to 12 who would like to join the fun…
A rip-roaring game full of non stop rugby from both sides. Quite how Beverley RUFC ended up losing it after almost totally dominating it was a mystery. Even more baffling was how they failed to score a single try despite creating clear cut chances all afternoon. The midfield trio of Phil Duboulay, Junior Tupai and Sam Atiola were simply outstanding and this was probably the best the pack has played…
