Discounted Bus Travel Announced to Support Young People This Easter

The Hull Bus Alliance has announced a discounted travel offer to help young people access activities during the Easter break as part of Healthy Holidays Hull.

The initiative follows discussions with the city’s Young People’s Parliament, which brought together transport providers, young leaders, and the city’s young mayor. Concerns were raised about the impact of cost-of-living pressures on young people’s ability to attend events across the city.

In response, the alliance has introduced a special ‘Healthy Holidays Dayrider’ ticket for under-19s, priced at just £2.50, offering unlimited all-day travel within Hull.

The ticket will be valid on services operated by Stagecoach East Midlands and East Yorkshire Buses, and will run:

📅 Monday 30 March – Friday 10 April (inclusive)
🚌 Available Monday to Friday only (including Good Friday and Easter Monday)
Free Activities Across the City

This Easter, Healthy Holidays Hull is offering a packed programme of free activities for children and young people of school age, including dedicated SEND sessions.

Activities include:

Ice skating
Go-karting
High ropes
Boxing
Cooking
Dance
Rugby
Multi-sports
Arts and crafts
Musical theatre

Most activities require booking, so families are encouraged to plan ahead to avoid missing out.

Supporting Access for All

Kerry Ryan, Head of Transport and Traffic Management at Hull City Council, highlighted the importance of the scheme in supporting families during challenging times, while the city’s young mayor, Eunice Jogunosinmi, welcomed the move as a positive example of young people’s voices being heard.

Transport operators also emphasised the benefits of helping young people stay active, social, and connected during the school holidays.
