Hull’s open top city tour will return for 2018, and this time it’ll run for even longer. The Hull Explorer open top tour bus was launched in Summer 2017, taking visitors on a guided tour around the city to see Hull’s most iconic sights, such as Queen Victoria Square, Old Town, Hull Minster, and the Marina.

Run by local bus company EYMS, will run for the early May bank holiday weekend and May half term this year, as well as an extended run over the summer holidays and follows what was a successful 2017 season.

David Shipp, Managing Director of EYMS, said:

“We were so delighted with the reaction to Hull Explorer that this year we’ve decided to run it over the May bank holiday periods as well as extending the main summer season.”

“Hull is becoming more and more of a tourism hotspot, with people visiting the city from all over the country and beyond. Hull Explorer is a brilliant way for them to see Hull’s beautiful buildings, and find out why those who live here are so proud of their city.”

Anthony Yates, ’s Visitor Economy Manager said:

“It’s fantastic news for the city that EYMS have committed to a second season operating the Hull Explorer tour, an open top tour bus is an asset which many destinations aspire to having and it clearly demonstrates how Hull continues to develop its tourism offer. Visitors once again will be able to experience and explore our city through a cleverly designed route which links our hidden gems alongside the more well-known attractions.”

The bus will run on 5, 6, 7, 26, 27, 28 & 31 May, 1, 2, 3 June, and then every Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 7 July until 2 September.

Prices remain the same as last year, at only £8 for an adult day ticket, or £21 for a family ticket, with all tickets letting you hop on and off the 80 minute tour as many times as you want all day. Cheaper tickets for children and people with concessionary passes are also available.

There’s no need to book in advance for the bus, simply buy a ticket from the driver when you board, or purchase a ticket from the EYMS Buses app. Those buying a Hull Explorer ticket can also get discounted entry to The Deep and Dinostar, plus money off at Hull Museums shops.

Bus times and stops can be found by picking up a leaflet from Hull Travel Centre in the Interchange or local Tourist Information Centres, visiting www.eyms.co.uk or ringing BusLine on 01482 59 29 29.
