A new independent business in Beverley say they just knew the town centre was the right choice for their new venture, The Modern Draper.
Owners Chris Terry and Lisa Brown started trading in Beverley’s Georgian Quarter at the start of April bringing their own unique and personal shopping experience to the town.
Speaking to HU17.net they Chris said;
“Lisa and I were living in London until recently but our family roots are in the Hull area. Beverley is a beautiful, thriving market town that already supports some fantastic independent retailers.”
“When we saw the property at No 1 North Bar Within we ‘just knew’ it was a perfect location. It also has a great community feel which was really important to both of us.”
The Modern Draper is a lifestyle store catering to style-conscious customers of all ages. They stock an extensive range of premium apparel, footwear and accessory brands sourced from around the world.
Chris says that the ethos of the business is to provide a first-class contemporary retail environment combined with friendly, old-fashioned customer service values.
“Lisa and I are not just retailers. We are part of the community and we want people to feel welcome in the store and excited by what we offer.”
“We want The Modern Draper to be a destination store for the people of Beverley and the East Riding. We are happy to open early or late if our customers need us to. We already open until 6PM most days so customers can drop in on their way home from work.”
“To help make customers to feel comfortable whether they are buying, browsing or just dropping by we offer coffee from James at the Blending Room and beer from Atom Brewery.”
Initially focussing on men’s and unisex products Chris says the name will allow them to diversify into other areas adding they would love to introduce women’s collections and homeware in the future.
