Alex Stark Scores Twice As Town Beat Rovers

A resounding win for Beverley Town Reserves after a great second half performance.

Beverley started the better of the two teams but were unable to create any good chances.

Against the run of play, Rovers took the lead when their full back, Harry Dowson got away from Stewart Scott and finished well in the bottom corner.

At half time coach Shaun Gibson changed the formation and introduced Philip Gardner and Adam Williamson.

Within ten minutes of the restart, Town were level when Alex Stark got on the end of an under hit back pass and fired home.

Town were well on top and making good use of their possession. They went in front when Scott scored from 8 yards and the same player hit the post not long after.

Town keeper Matthew Spencer was a spectator as the home side had a number of chances to increase their lead.

Town went 3-1 ahead when skipper Tom Davies played a great pass through to Daniel Atkinson who scored with aplomb. As Town continued to dominate Stark added a fourth to complete his brace.

Over all a well deserved three points which leaves Beverley Town Reserves in second place in the East Riding County League. There is only goal difference between Beverley and the current leaders Bridlington Town Reserves.

With no match this weekend, Beverley will return to action in two weeks when they will face St George’s FC who are currently one place below Town in the table.

Final Score: Beverley Town Reserves 4 Holme Rovers 1
