Neil Bant Stands for St. Marys Ward Elections

My name is , I am thirty six, married with two children and have lived in the Beverley area for 19 years.

I was educated at , gained my degree in Hull and now work for KC. is my sport and I am a member of Beverley Athletic Club whom I have represented locally and nationally.

I am standing in these because I wish to work for and represent the views and aspirations of my local community. I believe that local elections should be about local issues and initiatives and not about politics. I was dismayed to see our council tax being used by this Tory led Council to top up high earning officer pensions, money which could have been used to improve local amenities and services.

We need to preserve Beverley’s character, our schools educational achievements, our recreational facilities and our hospital services, whilst improving , access around the town and parking issues. I can assure you that if elected I will listen to the views of residents and do my utmost to make your opinions heard and acted upon to improve our council services.

  1. Neil is just the sort of person who should be a councillor. He knows the area well and obviously values Beverley’s heritage which we all need to help preserve. Once lost, gone forever. I admire Neil for putting this message out now, as the elections are less than three months away and voters need to be assessing who to vote for now. It is disconcerting to find that the present ERYC have no fewer than 5 ‘Awards’ on the Rotten Boroughs pages of a recent Private Eye. This is more than any other council, and quite shameful. The East Riding should be a place to be proud of, and with councillors like Neil, it could be. ksha/” (the moreally
