Hodgsons FC Vs North Ferriby Athletic

Hodgsons came out of this bizarre game with all 3 points after beating Athletic  6 – 4.

The home side knew this would be a tough match, with Ferriby containing a number of quality players. They finished in 4th position last season, narrowly missing out on the runners up spot.

After just 6 minutes Hodgsons took the lead through top marksman . On 15 mins Hodgsons were awarded a penalty. Shaun Gibson stepped up and although he struck the ball well, it was at a nice height for the keeper to palm around his post.

The home side did score for a second time 2 minutes later, again Foster found the net courtesy of pass from strike partner .

Ferriby pulled a goal back on 25 mins, before Foster completed a first half hatrick from the penalty spot after a foul on winger Danny Atkinson. In the final minute of the 1st half Ferriby grabbed a 2nd goal to leave the scoreline delicatley poised at 3-2 to the .

The second half saw the home side increase their lead on 51 mins. Goal machine Foster banging in his 4th of the game.

The goals continued to flow and it was the away side to score next to make it 4-3. Hodgsons Danny Cartwright scored the 5th goal to give Hodgsons a 2 goal cushion, then yet again Ferriby bounced back to score their 4th goal of the game. In the final minute of the game one of the seasons new signings Durham tapped in from close range following excellent wing work by substitute Rob Northern.
