Petanque enthusiasts are invited to a free event to try out the sport in May at the Molescroft Beverley Petanque Club in Beverley.
As part of Commuted Sums from local housing developments, Molescroft Parish Council was awarded £20,600 from the East Riding of Yorkshire Council earlier this year.

Cllr. Denis Healy has revealed that East Riding Council is holding nearly £450,000 received from developers who have built houses in Molescroft, which it needs to spend on community projects.
Cllr Healy says these figures have been kept away from the public though since his election and now he is the only non Conservative councillor is happy to share these figures with the public so they can stake their claim.
Helping older people to enjoy fun activities in a relaxed and friendly setting is the aim of a new group which has launched in the East Riding to promote independence.
A new group, called ‘Tomorrow’s Youth’, has been set up in Beverley to offer those aged 55 and over weekly activity sessions which are designed to increase physical activity, create new friendships and lift spirits.
