The fixture computer has produced an interesting opening league game for the Blue and Golds and also for their fans.

Champions, Beverley ARLC will face local rivals Hull Dockers in their opening day of the new National Conference League.

Beverley will get their new season underway in a match that will see them open their season with an eagerly anticipated derby at the Willows.

Since winning the title there has been much anticipation about their pending clash with Hull Dockers. Now both sides know they will go head to head on day one of the news season.

The match will also have an added meaning with a trophy up for grabs. The aggregate score from the two league games will determine the winners of the Quiney Cup.

This cup is played in memory of Paul Quiney who represented both clubs back in the 1990s.

Beverley will host the return leg of the league fixture at the Beverley Leisure Centre on 17 August. With so much at stake and local pride both match promise to be mouth watering encounters.

Fixture Computer Serves Up Opening Day Derby Both Clubs Will Relish

Scott Taylor and his side will no doubt go into the match with Hull Dockers full of confidence. Last season the Blue and Golds easily won the title in a campaign that saw them unbeaten at home.

Since winning the title and knowing that life in the second tier of the NCL would mean a match with Hull Dockers both sides have been to play.

Thanks to the fixture computer the sides will not have to wait long to see who will earn local bragging rights in the league.

Last season Hull Dockers managed just nine wins while they lost twelve times finishing in ninth place. While Beverley were in the league below they lost just once in a season that included nineteen wins.

Taylor has already been working with the squad who were recalled to training before . Before they face Hull Dockers they have the small matter of the Challenge Cup.

Beverley will make the short trip to up the A1079 to face York Acorn at the end of January. It will be the first competitive game of the new season and chance for Taylor to see how his squad are performing.
