Beverley Family Carnival is will be a fund raising event aiming to raise cash to help support 50 pop up schools in the slums of Bangladesh.
A spokesperson for the event said;
“The 1st Beverley Family Carnival is going down a storm, we have had an amazing response so far with so many people and businesses offering their support.”
“We have various entertainers, local musicians and singers and a lovely chap called Dennis Caruana who was previously involved in the Springboard Festival, all dedicating their time for free to help make this a success.”
“Businesses have booked pitches to sell their crafts, food and attractions with a % of takings being donated to the charity. Local estate agent Woolley and Parks have ever so kindly donated a significant amount of money to sponsor the event too.”
“In addition to this we have other charities attending with various stalls to raise their profiles. There is a real community spirit going on here and it is amazing to be gaining so much support.”
“We have received praise and support from the Mayor of Beverley who is very happy to see this happening in the town.”
“Going forward we want it to grow bigger in size and status year on year and at some point replicate the event and take it to other towns in the area too.”
Admission to the Beverley Family Carnival £2 for adults and just £1 for children to attend with the event getting underway at 10AM and concluding at 8PM.
