From winning the Crew Faceoff to recovering from Hodgkins Lymphoma, a form of Cancer, salon owner Dominic Ackah-Amihere at UrbanQTR is looking forward to Christmas.
In November 2012, Dominic was celebrating after winning the prestigious Crew Faceoff title, little did he know just a month later he would be told of his illness.
Dominic who has been in remission for six months defied the doctors request to rest and continued working as much as possible while receiving treatment.
When asked why he chose to work on Dominic said;
“You can’t just be defeated.”
Now back full-time at the salon Dominic and his colleagues are all looking forward to a busy Christmas period as the Toll Gavel salon announces a host of festive offers.
Dominic, speaking about the promotions UrbanQTR has lined up, said;
“We have a special offer this Friday on the evening the of the Beverley Christmas Lights switch on.”
“On the night we will be offering free hair advice and giving out new client discount vouchers.”
UrbanQTR also sells gift vouchers that can be redeemed in the salon and products that include brands like GHD, Aveda and American Crew.
To handle the demand UrbanQTR will be open every Sunday and Monday throughout December running offers with selected stylists that include a cut and colour for just £40.
The gents are not forgotten and also catered for with specials, including a cut and style with an American Crew product for just £30.95.
UrbanQTR also has some January offers that will see them offer a 20% discount on bonded hair extensions and weaver hair extensions until the end of February.

Amanda has been in the hairdressing industry for 30 years. She is also a qualified tutor, assessor as well as teaching at Prospect Training in Hull.
Jodie has been working at UrbanQTR for two years and is now back after giving birth to her baby boy, she welcomes old and new clients.
Dominic has now recovered from Hodgkins Lymphoma and is back working fulltime in the salon.
Sophie has been in the hairdressing industry for seven years. She completed her apprenticeship at the Mark Hill Salon.
Leah is studying to complete her NVQ Level 2 in hairdressing and is soon joining the UrbanQTR team of stylists.
