Stunning Display By Braves

had a stunning start to the match as within a few minutes of the whistle signalling the beginning of play they used their line, first to one wing then across to the other, completely catching out the opposition as Owen Harrison found a gap and dived over to open the scoring. The perfect start for the visiting Braves and just what the coaches ordered.

From that moment the Braves had taken the lessons learnt from the last few matches and were passing the ball around and completing their sets to give a display to be proud of. Callum Officer was again outstanding in the middle, charging with force down the pitch despite picking up an injury early on. With momentum going forward and strong running by Kurt Pelham, and Jamie Branton gaps were opening up and a pin point pass unleashed to power over the line.

This was quickly followed by another charge by Dylan Clifford who proves unstoppable when he put his head down and has an eye on the white wash. Beverley continued to dominate and the whistle blew for half time 0 – 16.

A cracking defensive Beverley line would not let the charging Warriors through and the impact of the tackles forced errors by the home side. A play of the ball from such an error was passed to a charging Joe Wardill running at full speed and he sped through the line and broke free on the other side and put the ball down under the uprights.

Danny Dawson had a massive game in the middle and contributed to the tight wall that kept Myton out. All credit to the home side though as they battled on and had a period of pressure which was only halted when Gray broke free from his own half and his pace was amazing as he charges up the pitch untouched and had the intelligence to steer towards the middle of the posts for an excellent individual try.

From the kick off following this Keegan Bartlett took the ball and passed to Wardill and again, from his own half, Wardill accelerated through the Myton players and mirrored Gray’s try to make the score 0 – 32.

Again from the kick off a difficult bouncy ball which was taken superbly by Callam Bielby to give possession to the Braves and they found Wardill who slipped through yet again to complete his hat trick. This was the best game of the season so far for Beverley as the players put their bodies on the line and everyone muscled up and contributed to the game.

The ball players, Jay Black, Keegan Bartlett and were controlling the game and keeping possession for Beverley which ultimately contributed to their win. The icing on the cake came when Clifford made another power drive and scored to finish the game 0 – 44. Man of the Match, Joe Wardill for another excellent display.
