Hodgsons FC Vs Easington Utd Reserves

Hodgsons FC were back at home in the league as they looked to continue their winning ways the Leisure Centre as they faced Easington United Reserves.

Another 3 points for Hodgsons FC keeps them firmly in contention for the league title. The opponents Easington Utd looked sharp early on, and created some good chances. Whilst at the other end Hodgsons were not at their formidable best. It took 25 mins before the deadlock was broken, and it was centre half who gave the home side the lead. delivered a pin point corner onto Daniels head and he did the rest.

A second goal came ten minutes later courtesy of ‘crazy legs’ Scott-Jon Tyler. There was nothing crazy about his goal though, a superb strike with the outside of his left foot from all of 30 yards made it 2 nil.

Whilst the first half wasn’t very pretty to watch, Hodgsons FC had the advantage. The second started better than the first and stand in skipper Chris Heath continued to rally the players.

Easington grabbed a late consolation goal with minutes to spare. Hodgsons FC chairman Lee Hastings said afterwards. “This was far from a ‘good’ performance by Hodgsons, however to get the win and 3 points in this fashion can’t be a bad thing.”
