Beverley RUFC 2nd XV stormed victory over local rivals Driffield at Beaver Park winning 39 – 3. It was the seconds ninth win in an impressive season so far that has seen the side lose just once.
Beverley Town FC Reserves were knocked out of the cup as they were beaten 4 – 3 by Little Weighton at the Norwood Recreation Ground.
Another good day for Beverley RUFC. They needed to record a big win here to boost their points difference and they did it in fine style. Darlington are having an unhappy time since their promotion into North One East
Molescroft Rangers were beaten three one by Hornsea Town Reserves nil the East Riding County League. Thomas Fox, Jaccob Saddiqui and Jack Rome scored for the visitors at the Beverley Leisure Centre.
Using an attacking formation in the first match, AFC Tickton managed to use all of the pitch. With a fine cross from Jack Thompson on the right wing, Robbie Wainright tipped one in passed the courageous goalie.
Walkington were dumped out of the cup by Beverley Town Reserves at Longcroft School in what assistant boss Phil Mosses described as a tough match.
AFC Tickton claimed two impressive wins at home to Longhill- not that they had it all their own way, having to work hard in the first game, scoring a goal in each half to register their first win.
Hodgsons FC slumped to their fifth defeat of the season as they were beaten 2 – 0 by Chalk Lane at Bishop Burton College. Defeat sees Hodgsons FC slip into the bottom three of the Humber Premier League, but they do have a game in hand
Both teams played some entertaining football, but there was nothing to separate them in the first match as both teams conceded own goals leaving it all even going into the second match.
Beverley Town Beavers came from a goal down to beat Full Measure at Lecconfield Sports Club. Peter Savage opened the scoring for the visitors on ten minutes; Jon Burnett equalised for Town on the stroke of half time with the winner coming from Alex Thompson with just two minutes remaining in the game.
Both teams severed up some entertaining football, this was AFC Tickton’s first home game of the season and it did not disappoint. AFC Tickton came back from an early goal to win the first match 2-1, to the delight of the coach.
The blue and golds got the win last Saturday which will hopefully now kick start their season. The first half was an evenly contested affair with both sides turning around at the interval at 6-6.
Sam Dxion scored four goals though found himself on the losing side as Molescroft Rangers were dumped out of the League Cup. A strong looking Rangers lineup was no match for AFC Rovers who progressed to the next round with 8 – 4
The first results of the season came as a surprise to AFC Tickton Terriers, with a goalless draw in their first game and losing to Elloughton Blackburn Falcons by one goal to nil in their second match.
