Hull North MP Dame Diana Johnson recently visited Ideal Heating, one of the city’s biggest employers, to see how it is transforming homes in the country.
Besides focusing heavily on the environment and product expansion, the company has invested £16m in expanding production at its National Avenue site and is opening a new £1m green technology research center at Bridgehead Business Park, Hessle.
At a ceremony held at the Mercure Hotel, Willerby, the winners of the Women in Business (WIB) Women of Achievement Awards (WOAA) were announced.
In addition to celebrating the achievements of Hull and East Yorkshire’s businesswomen, the WOAA recognizes those who hold leadership roles in their professions, industries, organisations, or charities.
Employees at Hull-based Ideal Heating and their colleagues across the Groupe Atlantic UK Division are celebrating after raising £47,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support during the past year.
It takes the total amount the company has donated to Macmillan to over £200,000 since its partnership with the charity began in March 2018.
Ideal Heating has announced it will be offering a series of new apprenticeship opportunities throughout 2022 as it prepares the next generation of talent with skills ready for a future in green energy.
With over 10 new apprenticeships set to be introduced across various areas of the business, the successful applicants will help Ideal play a part in the UK’s drive to become a net-zero economy by 2050, as it increases its production of low carbon heating products.
