Green Cleaning Company Strikes Gold At Prestigious Manufacturing Awards

Hull-based green cleaning company Bio-D has been announced as the winner of a prestigious award for energy and sustainability at a major regional manufacturing awards ceremony.

The Make UK Manufacturing Awards recognises the achievements of companies from across the North East, Yorkshire and the Humber. The winners of each category now go on to the National Manufacturing Awards Ceremony which will be held in London in January.

John Cunningham, who was usually known as Jack, came from a traveller family and was the eldest son of Charles Cunningham, a licensed pot hawker and his wife Mary Ann. He had six brothers and just like his father, was a hawker.

Hull 4 Heroes Able To Respond Quicker With New Corporate Card Solution

Hull based financial technology firm Expensemate has given Hull 4 Heroes the ability to respond quicker to veterans’ needs with three pre-paid cards, which speed up and monitor the transactions that are essential to running the charity.

Expensemate, which is part of the Rix Group, launched the only corporate expense card to offer credit in 2020. They have gifted the charity with three of their pre-paid cards – worth £252 a year in usual fees – to enable members of the Hull 4 Heroes team to respond quickly when supporting veterans.

Hull-based Dileepa Ranawake, who was diagnosed with dyslexia at 18, is drawing on his background in technology and health projects to create Jisterly.ai, which will enable dyslexic people to read and prioritise their emails up to five times faster without having to open them.
