City and cultural leaders have welcomed the publication of an independent evaluation of Hull’s year in the spotlight as UK City of Culture 2017, which confirms the continuing impact the title has had on the city.
The report, published by the University of Hull, says “the most significant impact of all” was an estimated £676m of new private and public investment that was generated for the city.
Hull Culture and Leisure (HCaL), the company that looks after some of the city’s best-loved leisure facilities, has been awarded a prestigious Customer Service Excellence Award for the third year running.
HCaL was given the award following a report praising its range of services and its engagement with customers, and recognising significant investments over the last year at places like Hull New Theatre and Ennerdale Leisure Centre
Opera North returns to The Deep next week with a series of music and movement sessions for the attraction’s youngest visitors and their parents.
