The Beverley Beaver Pigeon Club held their annual awards at Hodgsons Pub. Members were presented with trophies and cash prizes for their efforts across a season of Pigeon Racing. Top prize winner was Phil Whitehead, Brian Levitt and Steve Waslin finished second and third respectively. Others on the night who received awards were, Brian Lawson, Dave Galvin, Dave Suggitt, Tracy Malton, Kevin Cooper and Tim Ratcliffe.

The streets of Beverley were filled with people who came out to enjoy the Beverley Festival of Christmas. The event was officially opened by Charlie Dimmock before the main attraction, Santa Claus, paraded through the streets. Starting at Wednesday Market Father Christmas pulled by his reindeer travelled through the town to Saturday Market where he talked to children who had gathered to meet him.
Coletta and Tyson Garden Centre at Woodmansey have the best Santa’s Grotto in the area this weekend. From 11am-4pm today and tomorrow, it costs £4 per child and includes a chat with Santa and a gift.
