Night Time Resurfacing Work To Begin On Local Roundabouts

A £200,000 scheme to resurface two major roundabouts in Driffield, and the link road between them, is due to begin on Monday 9 September.

Road improvements will be carried out over two weeks at the Beverley Road Roundabout, the Kelleythope Roundabout, and the A164 Driffield Road which joins the two.

Another Fantastic Night At St Mary's As The Culture Train Comes To Town

Since 2017 the Culture Train project has taken some of the top musicians from Hull out to play at locations across East Yorkshire and on August 31st the current tour has its finale at the majestic St Mary’s Church.

The project is funded by East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s Active Creative fund and began during the 2017 Hull City of Culture year to take musicians out of Hull and visit locations along the Hull to Bridlington rail line.

Flowerstyle say the time was right to relocate from Driffield to Beverley. Owner Susan Haigh and daughter Emma Chamberlain, both residents add they are delighted to be trading in the town.

Trading for over 9 years, Flowerstyle started in Tickton before relocating to Driffield. However, they have now teamed up with Fresh and Fruity by opening on Dyer Lane.

Another day and another festival for Beverley Beavers u10 squad. On this occasion, Ionians were the hosts with opposition provided by Doncaster, Driffield, Grimsby and the hosts themselves.

The day was damp and dreary but the rugby certainly was not! The initial game required input from the referee regarding the rucking rule for this age.

As well as Beverley controlled the ball in their season opener against Driffield, they failed to care for it this weekend as an Ionians dominated the first half en route to a comfortable 36-12 victory over the Beavers.

Ionians scored early to put Beverley on the back foot as the visitors failed to recover from a fumble receiving the kick off that gave the home side possession and territory which they duly converted two minutes later driving over from a free kick.

A busy Bank Holiday weekend for Beverley Town Cricket Club saw the 1st XI take 57 points from a possible 60 giving themselves a real chance of promotion.

The 2nd XI lost one game and picked up 27 points from their second to slip out of and back in to the promotion places; the 3rds won and then lost in two very tight finishes; and the 4ths rounded off their unbeaten season off in in style with a comfortable win.
