More than nine out of ten Year 6 children in the East Riding have been awarded places for the school named by parents as their first choice in the 2019/20 secondary school admissions round.
Letters to parents, informing them of the outcome of their applications for secondary school places in September 2019, are being sent out today, Friday 1st March. This is known as ‘National Offer Day’ and is the date that all local authorities in England have to send the letters out to parents.
Beverley Grammar School students have scored a major success with the school’s annual Mock Job Interview Day. All Year 11 students prepare for and attend a mock job interview with a local employer.
In order to make the interview process as realistic as possible, the students submitted their CV before the interview. Interviewers were also given a copy of the students’ most recent school report.
East Riding secondary schools are again celebrating their success in the GCSE league tables. The news comes are the new tables were issued by the Department for Education.
Results show that 46.30pc of students studying in East Yorkshire Schools achieved grade 5 or above in English and Maths.

Beverley Town Council, in association with the National Gardens Scheme (NGS), is holding an Open Allotments Day on Sunday 9th July from 12 noon until 4pm on the Queensgate and Kitchen Lane allotment sites.
