Cllr Denis Healy is appealing to Northern Rail to reconsider its proposal to scrap Beverley’s direct train service to Doncaster and Sheffield and beyond from next May.

The train operator is consulting stakeholders about a proposed new timetable to take effect from May 2018, which will see the end of through trains from Beverley.

Their all-girl line-up gave them a novelty value that attracted the crowds both in their home town of Hull and at gigs in London.

Lee Freeman Confirmed As Humberside Police Chief Constable

The Humberside Police and Crime Panel have today confirmed the appointment of Lee Freeman as Chief Constable of Humberside Police following a hearing held last Thursday.

Mr Freeman was announced on 30th May as the preferred candidate for Chief Constable by Police and Crime Commissioner Keith Hunter following a selection process, and has been in temporary charge of the Force since that date.
