Beau Bounds To Bark Glory At Beverley

The Danielle Mooney-trained Beau scorched a trail to glory in the inaugural running of the Burgess Supadog Bark de Triomphe at Beverley on Tuesday afternoon.

After two trials featuring canine speedballs that are trained and owned by jockeys, Mooney’s Collie showed jawdropping pace to seize the day by half a dog’s length.

Holme on Spalding Moor Parish Council have received £31,000 in commuted sums to spend on improvements to the play area located on the village playing field. The new equipment will be officially opened on Saturday 5 August.

Developers are required to provide Outdoor Playing Space (OPS) as part of all new residential developments above a certain size.

Hull Man Jailed For Passing Horsemeat Off As Beef

Three men, one from Hull, have today been sentenced for their roles in a conspiracy to pass horesmeat off as beef. Andronicos Sideras, 55 of Southgate, London, Alex Beech, 44 of Sutton on Hull, and Ulrik Nielsen, 58 of Gentofte, Denmark were sentenced at Inner London Crown Court.

The investigation into the case began with Environmental Health and Trading Standards Officers from Hull City Council.

Beverley Town Council unanimously agreed a Motion opposing Northern Rail’s plans to scrap the direct rail links connecting Beverley to Doncaster and Sheffield.

The Motion, presented by Councillor Ben Cooper, argued the changes to the 2018 timetable would unacceptably ‘harm and inconvenience the town’. It also called on Northern Rail to implement a full public consultation over any future changes that would affect Beverley.
