Stereophonics Announce Intimate Summer Show At Bridlington Spa

Ahead of headlining festival appearances this summer, one of Britain’s best live bands Stereophonics have announced an intimate headline show at Bridlington Spa on Wednesday 23rd August. Tickets go on sale 9am Tuesday 01 August.

Stereophonics have been touring and performing to sell-out crowds across the globe and will headline Kendal Calling on Y Not Festival, Victorious Festival on August 26th ahead of their set at BBC 2 Live In Hyde Park on September 10th.

Beverley Town Council: Northern Rail’s Economically Harmful Rail Proposal Must Be Scrapped

Beverley Town Council unanimously agreed a Motion opposing Northern Rail’s plans to scrap the direct rail links connecting Beverley to Doncaster and Sheffield.

The Motion, presented by Councillor Ben Cooper, argued the changes to the 2018 timetable would unacceptably ‘harm and inconvenience the town’. It also called on Northern Rail to implement a full public consultation over any future changes that would affect Beverley.

American artist Spencer Tunick and The Ferens’ Curator of Art, Kirsten Simister are just some of the guest speakers invited to take part in a fascinating symposium next month exploring the changing role of the nude in art.

The free event at Ferens Art Gallery on Thursday 10 August at 2pm will provide a forum for reflection especially for those who took part in the hugely successful Sea of Hull installation, that took place on 9 July 2016, when 3,200 people posing nude wearing nothing but blue body paint and officially became the UK’s largest ever nude installation.

Meet Artist Susan Beaulah At Beverley Art Gallery

Susan Beaulah, the artist responsible for the current exhibition at Beverley Art Gallery in the Treasure House – ‘Red Earth and Blue Water : Studies of Indian Life’ – will be holding free ‘Meet The Artist’ days this Saturday, 29 July, from 1pm-4pm, and the following Saturday, 5 August, 1pm-4pm.

Beaulah has been painting and exhibiting regularly since the 1980s in watercolour and oil. In recent years, her works have been mainly produced in India– from Rajasthan in the north to Kerala in the south.
