East Riding of Yorkshire Council is looking to recruit new foster carers for children from babies upwards.
The council is holding drop-in events in Bridlington and Hornsea where staff will be on hand to discuss what is involved in becoming a foster carer. Anyone interested in fostering is welcome to pop in for a chat and to pick up an information pack.
Plans for the Beverley Christmas Lights Switch on have been released with the focus of the event being staged around the centre of Beverley at the Market Cross.
While the main lights in the town centre will already be illuminated, the Beverley Lions Christmas Tree on the Market Cross will be switched on to officially mark the start of festive period in the town.
