East Riding of Yorkshire Council has been awarded just under £3 million from the Department for Transport (DfT) to build a new four-arm roundabout on the A164, at the Riplingham Road and Great Gutter Lane staggered crossroad junction, near Kirk Ella.

Contractors working on behalf of East Riding of Yorkshire Council have removed 13 sunken vessels from the River Hull, between Tickton and Beverley Beck, during the month of September.
Removing the vessels was an operational requirement of the multi-million-pound River Hull Integrated Catchment Strategy (RHICS), which was adopted by the River Hull Board in July 2015.
Road closures remain in place on Beverley Road, Hull between Fountain Road and Freetown Way due to an ongoing incident where a man has taken to the roof of a property.
Both vehicles and pedestrians are unable to travel through the area at this time. There is some limited access for those wishing to enter premises, officers are in attendance at the road closures to advise anyone wishing to do so.
Beverley and Holderness MP, Graham Stuart, says the community is fully behind his efforts to improve access to life-saving defibrillators after he hosted a summit for local fundraisers and the emergency services.

Hull born and raised playwright, Richard Bean, who is celebrated for work such as The Hypocrite and Broadway success One Man Two Guvnors, is delighted at the reception of East Riding Theatre’s production of his play Kiss Me.
Due to an imminent knee replacement operation Richard Bean is unable to see the show for himself but has recently sent the cast, local actor Edward Cole with Bettine Mackenzie who recently appeared in Adrian Rawlins production of The Night Season, a card thanking them for their truthful portrayal of his characters.
