His comments come as his side lost their final game against Westella & Willerby 2-1 at Broadgates securing them sixth place in the Humber Premier League with 40 points.

Tennis Coach Takes On 24-hour Challenge For Sport Relief

A plucky tennis coach from Hull has completed what is thought to be the world’s longest match after completing a gruelling 24-hour tennis marathon.

Pete Bridgewater (30) of Summergangs Road undertook the challenge at Cherry Burton Tennis Club in order to raise funds for Sport Relief along with 12 of his friends, who each agreed to play a two-hour slot.

Innovative Community Event In Beverley Ahead Of Beverley Early Music Festival

Two groups of young people in Yorkshire have come together across boundaries to take the recorder to their hearts, in an innovative community project as part of the 31st Beverley & East Riding Early Music Festival opening next week, 24-27 May 2018.

York’s Minster Minstrels, an established youth ensemble dedicated to the exploration of early music, and Castaway Musical Theatre Goole, a vibrant group of young people with learning and physical disabilities from the Goole area, have been working on a collaborative project for the last three months, as part of the BBC Ten Pieces project, which aims to make classical music and musical instruments accessible.

Paralympian Martine Wright, MBE, who lost both of her legs during the 7th July 2005 bombing in London, has been announced as the guest speaker at this year’s Women of Achievement Awards 2018.

The popular awards ceremony is one of the most prestigious of its kind in Hull and East Yorkshire. Around 500 people are expected to attend this year’s event at the new Double Tree by Hilton.
