A busy Bank Holiday weekend for Beverley Town Cricket Club saw the 1st XI take 57 points from a possible 60 giving themselves a real chance of promotion.

The 2nd XI lost one game and picked up 27 points from their second to slip out of and back in to the promotion places; the 3rds won and then lost in two very tight finishes; and the 4ths rounded off their unbeaten season off in in style with a comfortable win.

The Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition – developed and produced by the Natural History Museum – is coming towards the end of its run at the Treasure House in Beverley.

A free exhibition, it reflects the 53rd year of the competition, which welcomes entries from professional and amateur photographers in three age groups and runs till Saturday, 8 September.

Construction Trade And Careers Event Returns For Third Year

Foundations Live, the region’s biggest co-located construction trade and careers event, will be hosted for the third time this year on 10th October at Bishop Burton College, East Riding of Yorkshire.

The event, held in partnership with the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB), will address an increasing demand in skills and employment in the region’s workplaces. It is estimated more than 9,000 jobs in the sector will be available in the next five years, with total growth in the Yorkshire and Humber region forecast at 1.1%.

Beverley Brothers Earn Top Five Finish At ‘Cathedral of Speed’

Beverley Brothers Sam and Adam Christie competed in round five of the “FIM Sidecar World Championship” at the TT Circuit Assen in the north of Holland. Commonly known as the “Cathedral of Speed” the 4.542 km circuit is a favorite with all racers, fast and flowing.

Arriving in Holland, driver Sam with passenger Adam had a nice surprise before they even took to the track. At a previous meeting at the “Sachsenring” in Germany Sam and Adam finished two races in fourth place.
