A 20-year-old man has been jailed for six years after he robbed another man of just £20, stole his mobile phone, assaulted him and threatened him with an axe.

Meluleki Mpofu, also known as ‘EMZ’, who is from Somalia was sent to prison following the incident at a property on Cave Street in Hull on Saturday 26 May 2018.

Beverley Town were held at home by Chalk Lane as the sides shared six goals in a thrilling 3-3 draw.

Beverley went 1-0 following a well-worked goal from Karl Fitzgerald. Chalk had a good penalty appeal turned away, both teams created some good chances but neither side could convert. The first half was played at a frantic pace, with both teams determined to get a foothold on the game.

Beverley RUFC started the second half of the season entertaining Pontefract on a cold and grey day, but at least dry conditions underfoot made the prospect of some good rugby realistic and so it proved.

In September the Beavers secured a victory over Pontefract in the corresponding fixture over in the West Riding. Results since then shown that Ponte has improved substantially and they currently sit fourth in the table, with 13 points more than Beverley.
