Beverley & East Riding Lawn Tennis Club Benefit From Commuted Sums Funding

Works to the Clubhouse at Beverley & East Riding Lawn Tennis Club have been completed with the help of £70,000 from East Riding of Yorkshire Council as part of Commuted Sums from local housing developments.

In addition to the £70,000 from Commuted Sums, Beverley and East Riding Lawn Tennis Club have put around £29,000 of their own funds towards the project.

A Beverley-based developer is in final discussions with potential operators for a project to create a petrol station, convenience store and business units after councillors welcomed the proposals.

Lovel Capital Projects, part of Lovel Property Holdings Ltd, will now work on details of the scheme to transform the site in Killingwoldgraves Lane, on the outskirts of Beverley, which is the former home of Teckno Developments, a wallpaper and fabric pattern books manufacturer which was destroyed by fire in 2009.

East Riding businesses who provide goods and services to the local retail, leisure and hospitality industry and have so far failed to secure Government grants during the COVID-19 pandemic may now be eligible to apply for new funding.

Minimum grants of £5,000 are being made available to those eligible businesses directly involved in the supply chain to those in the retail, leisure and hospitality sector and who have a rateable value of more than £15,000 and less than £51,000.
