September To Bring Big Improvements For Beverley And Hornsea Buses

Bus company East Yorkshire has announced that from 5 September it will be revamping its Beverley and Hornsea buses to create more opportunities for travel in the towns.

The improvements, which are the biggest shake-up of buses in the area for several years, will include two new services around Beverley, plus a new link to allow Hornsea residents to get directly to Castle Hill Hospital without having to change buses.

An international opera singer is heading home to East Yorkshire to perform for a life-saving charity in an exclusive, hidden gem of a venue.

Mezzo soprano Katy Marriott, who has returned to Beverley following a career singing across Europe, will be joined by the Wedding Belles choir presenting songs from The Sound of Music at The Chapel of Saint Mary and Everilda at Everingham Park.

A hospital in Yorkshire has become the first in the country to support patient care by bringing poetry, stories and chat to the bedside in a partnership that has its roots in the UK City of Culture programme.

Library Link has completed a pilot scheme with volunteers from Hull and East Yorkshire reading poems and short stories to patients in wards and waiting rooms at Hull Royal Infirmary and is now gearing up to return post-Covid.
