Beverley’s brand new Rock Choir, Remarkable Rock Beverley, are gearing up for their debut concert at Beverley’s Music Hub, The Hexagon Centre, on Coltman Avenue, on Wednesday, 29 November at 7pm.

The group launched in September and currently has nearly 50 members, of all ages, from across Beverley & East Yorkshire.

Residents across the East Riding wishing to improve their home security may be able eligible to apply for a grant.

The safe and sound scheme, which is run by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, is a pot of money which is available to vulnerable people in order for them to install additional security measures, such as additional door and window locks, door chains and window alarms.

With 95 confirmed participants, they are hoping five more will come forward this year to set a new record of 100 trees – the most they can physically fit in.

Sheltered Housing schemes residents will be joined on Wednesday by local campaigners opposed to East Riding Council proposals which would see warden numbers in Sheltered Accommodation slashed. 

In July, ERYC proposed a shake up of arrangements for the area’s Sheltered Housing schemes which would see 53 dedicated wardens being replaced by 11 mobile wardens.

There are only two weeks left to visit the colossal artwork by Gary Saunt – ‘A Cultural Pilgrimage from Beverley to Hull’ – on display free of charge at the Treasure House in Beverley until Saturday, 2 December.

The huge digital painting – measuring over 20 metres in length – has been produced to celebrate the transformational impact of Hull UK City of Culture 2017 on Hull and the East Riding.
