A leading regional law firm has unveiled a new artificial intelligence-powered HR platform it says could transform the way businesses handle workplace issues.
Wilkin Chapman Rollits has launched “Adaptive HR”, a cutting-edge system combining AI technology with expert legal advice from specialist employment solicitors — all wrapped into a single service.
The firm claims the platform is among the first of its kind in the UK, offering businesses round-the-clock HR support alongside professional legal oversight and even optional insurance protection.
The move comes as employers face growing pressure to deal with increasingly complex workplace matters quickly — and get them right.
Oliver Tasker, head of employment law at the firm, said the platform was built in direct response to those challenges.
“We often hear from employers who are managing complex HR situations with limited time and resources,” he said. “Adaptive HR allows us to provide expert-led HR and legal guidance around the clock, while ensuring clients can still access advice from our employment lawyers when they need it.”
He added that the system ensures businesses don’t lose the “human touch”, with every step checked and validated by a qualified solicitor.
At its core, Adaptive HR uses AI to guide employers through tricky processes such as disciplinaries, grievances and absence management. It provides step-by-step instructions, generates key documents and creates a full audit trail to help ensure legal compliance.
But unlike many automated systems, this platform doesn’t stop there.
Each case is reviewed by a solicitor before action is taken, giving businesses added confidence they are following the correct procedures. While the AI system is available 24/7, legal experts step in during working hours to provide oversight and tailored advice.
There is also an option for businesses to take out insurance, covering legal costs if a case escalates to an Employment Tribunal — from the point of ACAS early conciliation onwards.
The launch reflects a wider shift across the legal sector, where AI is increasingly being adopted to streamline workloads and improve efficiency. Recent developments include the approval of the UK’s first fully AI-driven law firm by the Solicitors Regulation Authority.
However, Wilkin Chapman Rollits insists its approach is different — using AI to support, not replace, human expertise.
“AI is a powerful tool, but it must be used responsibly,” Tasker said. “We’ve prioritised transparency, data privacy and clear human oversight every step of the way.”
With more than 520 staff across offices in Grimsby, Lincoln, Louth, Hull, York and Beverley, the firm is the largest operating across both Lincolnshire and Yorkshire — and now, it hopes, at the forefront of a new era in HR support.
