Beverley Racecourse 

Beverley Racecourse is a renowned horse racing track, with the main season starting annually in mid-April. The course has a rich pedigree that dates back to 1690. Some of the greatest horses in the world race here regularly, in both afternoon and evening meetings. It is great for anyone who wants to experience the thrill of a race day.

Sewerby Hall 

Sewerby Hall and Gardens are just a short drive from Beverley. Built in 1714 by John Graeme, it has had numerous extensions and additions over the years. Today, it is a Grade 1 listed building situated in lavish gardens, that has recently been turned into a living museum.  

The hall itself has been refurbished to look as it would have done in the Edwardian era. It houses several artefacts and exhibitions, with collections loaned from the Victoria and Albert Museum amongst others. The interactive exhibitions allow you to dress up and play the part of a servant or even one of Sewerby House’s owners, the famous Graeme family. There are audio tours and at certain points in the year, the ground even plays host to medieval jousting events! 

Dumble Farm

Ever wanted to cuddle a cow? Then Dumble Farm is an ideal place. This expanse of land is the home of the Highland Cow in the West Riding. With a range of experiences available, you can do everything from taking part in a cow safari to grooming the magnificent creatures themselves.  

Dumble Farm is not only an attraction but a small working farm. This means you do need to book visits in advance so the owners can prepare for your arrival. Also, being a working farm means that many of its events are not suitable for children, so it is advised that people attending are 16 or older.
