East Riding Theatre's 2022 Christmas Production

This December, East Riding Theatre presents ‘A Dickens of a Christmas,’ a festive theatrical finale to a Dickensian year.

The year 2022 has been an eventful one for everyone, so East Riding Theatre is eager to send its audiences into Christmas with some pure, joyous entertainment.

The East Riding Theatre is joined by Other Lives Productions for this Charles Dickens’ extravaganza, which features seven professional actors and a supporting community cast.

Characters such as Fagin, Scrooge, Little Nell, and even Charles Dickens himself will be portrayed by the cast. This festive family show promises festive fun through music, scenes, and vignettes.

Director Richard Avery says:

“I think a lot of people hear ‘Dickens’ and think ‘Christmas’. His stories are so iconic, particularly at this time of year and we wanted to celebrate not just one of his books, but as many as we possibly could.”

“East Riding Theatre’s first 3 Christmas productions were re-tellings of Dickens’ stories and we are delighted to bring some of these familiar characters back to the stage, played by some of the actors who brought them to life here.”

The East Riding Theatre is always proud to support local talent, and this Christmas is no exception. Several Hull and East Riding creatives are part of the cast and creative team.

In honour of the occasion, East Riding Theatre invites audiences to dress up in their best Victorian attire.
