Beverley Town will head from East Yorkshire to Lincolnshire as they face Brigg Town in the Northern Counties League.

A week has passed since Beverley made history by securing their first win at home following their step up into the NCL. They play Wednesday night at 7.45pM.

Beverley stormed to a 5-1 win over Glasshoughton Welfare under the lights at Norwood.

That result won the praise of manager Dave Ricardo who said he was pleased to tick off that first for the club. He will be looking to his team to replicate that performance against Brigg on Wednesday evening.

Speaking ahead of the game Ricardo said:

“We are in good shape going into the game with a full complement of players. I think this should be an entertaining match as both sides like to attack. We know it will not be easy, Brigg are one of the most experienced teams in the league and are in good form.”

Victory At Brigg Town Would See Beverley Climb The Table

A win for Beverley would see them climb the table and end the evening in fifth, a playoff spot. While it may be early on in the season it would certainly boost confidence within the squad.

Brigg and Beverley share an almost identical record in the season so far. Both sides have four wins, have scored fifteen goals and conceded nine. Brigg however has lost one less game than Beverley.

The hosts are one point ahead of Beverley but the sides have the same goal difference. Brigg is also in good form. They have won their last five games in all competitions and will be confident of making that six against Beverley.

On the road, Beverley has an equally impressive record. They are yet to be beaten on their travels racking up three wins and a draw. In those games, Beverley has scored seven and conceded three.

The match also starts what will be a busy period for the club. It is the first of four games in just eleven days made up of both league and cup games. It includes a cup game at home next Tuesday evening.
