Bridlington Spa has today revealed its exciting plans for live indoor performances in September as the venue slowly comes back to hosting live events regularly.

August’s Comeback Cabaret events which had to be postponed at short notice have now been rescheduled into September.

Comeback Cabaret is a series of eclectic Saturday evenings of socially distanced entertainment presented in the historic Art Deco Royal Hall.

Featuring in September’s line up is Asa Elliott best known for his role in ITV’s Benidorm with an evening of ’60s and swing. Ricky K brings an evening of stand-up comedy & a tribute to Robbie Williams on the 12th and on the 19th Chris Johnson performs an evening of classic country hits featuring songs from artists such as Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson, Merle Haggard, & many more. Glen Leon completes the line-up for September’s cabaret nights with a tribute to Tom Jones on the 26th September.

Also, legendary family-friendly comedian Jimmy Cricket is back on the 27 September with his trademark wellington boots (on the wrong feet), his famous letters from his Mammy and his catchphrases of ‘come closer’ and ‘there’s more’, he holds the hearts of all those that were original fans of his television and radio shows.

Jimmy has lost none of his talent or energy and his theatre shows are as hilarious as ever, winning him new fans wherever he performs. Jimmy remains one of the few completely family-friendly comedians’ currently on tour and has great pride in being regaled as having a truly clean act.

Bridlington Spa has also added a Picturehouse screening on Saturday afternoons showing films suitable for the whole family and will kick start the screenings on 5 September with the first instalment of the blockbuster Marvel Avengers films.

Bridlington Spa General Manager Mark Lonsdale says;

“Our first Comeback Cabaret event on Saturday 29 August proved to be hugely popular with our audience and showed that the appetite is out there for the return of live entertainment in a COVID secure way. We have programmed additional cabaret evenings into our plans for September and beyond.

As the premier entertainment venue on the Yorkshire coast, I’m delighted we are able to see the return of live indoor performances, providing entertainment to local residents and holidaymakers alike and to support the local economy.”
