One Man, One Vote – Ian Gow Targets Seat On Town Council

A resident in the town for 50 years and an unquestionable commitment to the community Ian Gow is looking for Beverley to back him in the local elections.

Mr Gow is hoping that people will cross his box and get him elected onto Beverley Town Council in the May 2 local elections.

At a time when politicians are driven by self-worth, it is refreshing to speak to someone who genuinely cares.  Furthermore, Mr Gow is under no illusions. He is not looking to change the world or making ridiculous promises. He simply cares about his community and making it a better place for everyone.

Minster North is the area he will be looking to represent, a seat that covers a majority of the residents from the Swinemoor Estate.

Speaking to HU17.net Mr Gow said;

“I am standing because residents on the Swinemoor Estate do not seem to get a shout in. I live in the ward and also feel Beverley Town Council is in some ways disconnected from the people in Beverley.”

“If elected I want to encourage people to join in with the town council and feel part of it. Also, I want the town council to be better connected with the people of the town.”

Mr Gow says his decision to stand as an independent as opposed to joining a political party is better suited for Parish Councils.

He also adds being free from a political party offers flexibility and freedom. As a result of this, he does not have to tow the party line.

Ian Gow Message To Voters Is One Man One Vote

He said;

“No major political party are covering themselves in glory at the moment.”

“It does not suit to have party politics in the town council. I feel people should be working together for the benefit of the town.”

“I hope residents will lend me their vote on May 2. Already I do a lot of things in the community while promoting the town in a positive light.”

“By electing me I will be able to make Beverley Town Council more engaging with the people.”

“As an independent candidate, I will not be swayed or have any allegiance. I want to make my own mind up based on what residents are telling me.”

“My message to the voters is this, it’s One Man One Vote.”

  1. It’s nice to see someone who is prepared to listen and be human, Rather than a party driven robot. I’ve just received a leaflet threw the door, It mentions that he is passionate about raising mental health awareness. I myself suffer from mental health, I struggle finding sufficient help within Beverley. It’s good that he isn’t a “Yes” man, And states he can’t make promises.
    You can count on my vote this May.
