Beverley Town Club ended a losing streak with a big win, as they beat Chalk Lane 2-1 in the .

Boss Rich Jagger says his side fully deserved to win and that his showed the desire to put things right following a string of bad results.

Speaking after the game, Jagger said;

“We thoroughly deserved the win today. Everyone showed a lot of effort and desire to put things right from last week.”

“Kurtis Bedford was excellent, and the wing backs worked exceptionally hard in a position relatively new to them.”

“Overall to a man it was a much better performance. We look forward to the next round and hope to get one of the big clubs.”

Jagger adjusted his line up for the game following the arrival of Bedford opting for a 3-5-2 formation.

Town started well with and Littlefield up front working tirelessly to create an opening, but the clear-cut chances would just not come.

Town’s skipper suffered a nasty cut to his forehead, but following some treatment White was patched up and carried on playing, something Jagger says optimised the attitude of the team.

Despite being in control it was Chalk Lane, who took the lead in the second period. Town, who have struggled at home this season dug deep and is was new boy Bedford, who got them back on level terms with a well-taken header.

Bedford though t he had his second of the game though his effort was ruled out by match officials.

Aldo Hysenaj, a young player with so much promise came up trumps in closing stages of the game, and he slotted home from the edge of the box to put Town through to the next round.

This was a much needed win for Town against a side who will certainly be competing on most fronts this season.
