is under starter’s orders for a great night of fundraising, and it’s inviting people to join in the fun, and help raise much-needed funds for this local community transport charity.

Taking place later this month, the race night will raise funds for the charity who provide a vital transport service  within the community ensuring people are not isolated and cut off.

CEO of Beverley Community Lift, , explained more about the event, she said;

“We are holding a ‘Race Night’ on Friday 22nd September, at Armstrong’s Social Club, in Beverley, staring at 7pm.”

“We invite you to bring your friends and family to enjoy a fantastic fun evening, with virtual horse races, pie and pea supper, and a raffle.”

“The event features televised horse races, which will be projected onto a large screen for all to see, and you’ll feel the excitement build as the horses get under starters orders, and race down the track to the finishing post.”

“With bookies and a tote, it’s very easy to place your bets, for your chance to win.”

Jan added;

“There will be a fully stocked bar, so you can enjoy a really fun night. Dress code is ‘anything goes’ and there will be a prize for the best posh hat! Doors open at 7pm, with the first race at 7.30pm.”

“Admission is by ticket only, to be purchased in advance. Tickets for the event cost £5, and include a pie and pea supper.”

“Ticket numbers for the Race Night are limited, so call us on 01482 868082 asap to make sure you get your ticket.”

“If you can’t make the event, you can still get involved by sponsoring a horse for £3 in advance. There will be a special prize for the winning horse ‘owner’ of each of eight races.”

“All proceeds from the evening will go towards helping us take local elderly and disabled people out and about, for example to medical appointments and on social outings, enabling them to be independent, and not be stuck at home on their own.”
