Town Continue Their Pre Season Against Old Malton

will continue their pre season with a tough fixture against York Premier League Champions Old Malton.

Town boss says he is pleased with the progress the squad is making as he continues to shape the side ahead of the new Humber Premier League Campaign.

On Tuesday evening Jagger saw his side come from behind twice to salvage a draw against well drilled side.

Speaking ahead of Saturdays match Jagger told .net;

“This will be our stiffest test yet as Old Malton are very good side. They are champions of the York Premier league and have some strong, experienced players.”

“We will be working hard on our shape again, we tried 3-5-2 in the second half against Walkington on Tuesday, and at times we struggled with it, however we haven’t played that way before so it’s a bit of a learning curve really.”

“I am pleased with the progress the lads have made, but there is still a long way to go before the first game of the season on 20th August.”

Jagger is looking to make a number of changes that could see three more players given the opportunity to impress the new gaffer.

Tom Davies who featured in Tuesday night’s draw is backing manager saying spirits are high in the camp, he said;

“There is a real buzz about the team. There is a strong bond with all the lads and we are all getting on really well and want to play for the gaffer.”

“Our pre season has seen a lot of effort going into our fitness and this could be key to us having a good season and closing out games.”

“We have started our preparations early and there have been a number of special sessions to help build fitness and strength.”

“Against Walkington we were solid in the first half, we changed our shape and conceded some goals but that what friendly games are for.”
