Cherry Burton Stay Top With Win over Beverley

came out on top in the local derby as they beat Beverley Town Cricket Club by 37 runs.

Batting first Cherry Burton set Beverley a target 232 to win though despite a their best efforts they were unable to reach the required amount of runs.

Cherry Burton’s Stew Scott said;

“It was a good win for us against a strong Beverley side. In my opinion the result would have been different if their skipper didn’t have to leave at short notice.”

“Everyone at cherry Burton CC would like to pass on our condolences to RJ and his family.”

“A 78 from Paul Ellis and 5-35 from Jack Wilson proved crucial in the end.”

Victory means Cherry Burton have maintained their perfect start to the new season and sit top of the Holderness Division on 90 points.
