Beverley Thirds Have Strong Team For Visit of Hessle

Beverley Town Cricket Club third team yet again go into a season defining fixture this weekend at the .

At the moment these seem to be coming every week due to the competitive nature of the league.

The 3rds currently sit second place in the league ladder, 10 points behind Kirkella in 1st and only 3 points above Hessle in joint 3rd place.

Skipper Alex Nightingale is happy with his side’s selection this week despite having to make a couple
of difficult decisions, he said;

“Again we go into the weekend with a really strong team, we have managed to keep hold of those players that are pushing to go into the second team and we have a couple coming back. will come in for Nelly Graham who is away.”

“Unfortunately I also had to move Dave Parry down to make way for a returning second team player; Dave was excellent for us last week, and I cannot express how crucial his contribution was, he will be the first player to come back into the side if there are any last minute changes.”

Hessle come into the fixture against Beverley after amassing a huge total against Hornsea last week.

They scored 292 for 3 and declared after just 35 overs, with Gaz Nickolls scoring 179. He is someone who was a thorn in Beverley’s side last time they met earlier in the season.

“He (Nickolls) is a player that can change a game, last time he managed to put Hessle in a position to
win the game and we could only manage a loosing draw.”

“He is an aggressive player and we will need to prevent him getting on top by bowling tight and building pressure.”

“If we get our game in order like we have over the past couple of weeks then I do not envisage any problems and there is no reason why we can’t come away with 30 points.”
