Has Beverley Got The X Factor? Only Time Will Tell

A packed Armstrong’s Social Club in Beverley enjoyed a night of entertainment as would-be singers tried out for the hit TV show The X Factor.

There were a number of acts from around the area, including Beverley that all had their chance to impress the judges who were at the club to seek out possible talent to appear on the show.

Watched by millions of people The X Factor gives hopeful singers a real shot at the big time and judging by the number of acts that appeared on stage in Beverley and the quality of some of those acts, there is a real pall of local music talent.

There were very good performances from local man Ian Berry as well as uplifting show by the all-girl band, The Melodies that performed their own unique version of the hit song All About the Base.

Commenting on the night, manager of Armstrong Social Club Sally Ann Rena said;

“Everyone really enjoyed the night. We had such a great team here at the club to make sure the night ran smoothly, giving everyone the best chance possible.”

“Elite Entertainment did a lot of work sorting out everyone’s music and backing tracks, along with sound engineers Pete & Grant and of course the whole team here at Armstrongs.”

The X Factor has taken their auditions on the road as they look to cast their net wider and seek out more talent for the next series.

It is estimated nearly 10 million people tune each week to watch the X Factor which is screened on ITV and has been broadcast the past 10 years.

Founded by Sony Music and Simon Cowell, the programme was launched to take over from the show Pop Idol as Mr. Cowell decided he wanted to own the rights to his own music talent show.

With over 120 people inside Armstrongs Social Club, there is no question that the magic of the X Factor is still strong.
Sally Ann added;

“We would like to thank everyone involved and look forward to seeing the X Factor in Beverley again hopefully.”

Those who took part in the event now face a long wait to find out they will be invited back by the producers of the show.
