Beverley ARLC return to action this Saturday for what will their final league fixture of the 2013/14 campaign, although there will be the usual end of season cups to follow.
The Blue & Golds are away to Hull Isberg at Winifred Holtby School for their 2pm kick off. The Hull outfit are among the promotion front-runners so a tricky encounter is anticipated.
There have been some bruising encounters between the clubs over the years. In 2011 Hull Isberg inflicted Beverley’s worse defeat of that season with a thumping 44-8 win. The season before that Beverley pushed Isberg all the way but were eventually beaten on in the last home fixture that season.
In more recent times Isberg have had the upper hand, despite showing lots of pride and passion it was not enough and the Blue and Golds were easily beaten again.
Most recently is was again Hull Isberg who won the game after they beat Beverley at the Leisure Centre 24-16. If the past is anything to go by this is going to be a massive ask for the blue & golds.
However, following that good victory a fortnight that saw the blue & golds give their most complete performance of the season against Hull Wyke optimism remains high and surely an upset is not out of the question.
